This morning when I started up my EX, the gas gauge is all the way on E. The trip computer showed 0 miles remaining, although I know there was at least 1/4 tank the last time I turned it off. I freaked for a minute and immediately went to fill up the tank. It only took about 11 gallons, so that was a small relief. The gauge still read E after I filled the tank though, next stop Infiniti service department. It still read empty when I arrived, but the miles till empty now read about 90 miles, it had been slowly creeping up since I filled it. Of course the tech starts the car and the gauge immediatly registers full.
He didn't have the necessary part available but ordered it for me, and said they would replace it when it arrives. In the mean time he suggested I write down mileage and make sure I know how far I've gone since the last fill so I won't get stranded somewhere.
