Last time I worked on my car, it was getting fuel and spark, but needed a new CAS (damaged during shipment). So, the new CAS arrived in the mail today so I installed it. This, of course, involved removing the valve cover. Well, apparently I f***ed something up during this, because now I'm not getting fuel and I keep blowing the 75amp fuse. Any idea what in the world I did? To my understanding, this fuse goes to the alternator. If this is true, why would it stop me from getting fuel? Someone please point me in the right direction. I'm heading to Iraq in less than 2 weeks and I need to get this car running so I can get it to my house.

O.K. Well I've searched and searched and found that the alternator can cause this and the positive battery cable grounding out can cause it. I relocated my battery, so I'm going to assume the battery relocation did it. Any other suggestions?

I still don't understand why this allows the motor to crank but causes it to not turn on the fuel pump???

If it's blowing the 75A fuse, you have a BIG FAT short somewhere. Get a multimeter and set it to continuity mode. Remove your battery and probe between the positive and negative wires.

Start with the fattest wire you can find and disconnect them one by one until you find the problem area.

Turns out this is the alternator fuse apparently. I put my car on the lift and we found a power steering line resting against the alternator.. Alternator had some HUGE arc marks on it... Pretty sure this was the problem. Removed those lines... (SOHC PS) Going to replace the alternator today...
