A few weeks ago, my car broke down (S13 SR20) and I took it to a shop. The symptoms were that the fuel pump would not prime or come on at all, I was getting no spark, and no injector pulse. I took it to a shop and they said that my CAS was bad. I got a new one, they replaced it and everything was gravy. Now, the same problem is happening again (same symptoms as above) but the CAS is only a couple weeks old and so I figure its gotta be something else. What made sense to me was an intermittent short to/from the CAS but I'm not sure. Anyone know what could be causing these symptoms (other than a bad ECU)? I've got some time this weekend so if anyone has any ideas, I'd like to tow it back home from the shop and work on it myself rather than pay their $80/hr. labor fee. Thanks.

well technically the cas is not new..from what i know the rwd sr is not interchangable with any usdm nissans or infinitis..so it could be a case of s.o.l. that you bought another and it f'ed up..try testing the continuity of it and voltage with the key on im not sure if that will work..if it were me..and i was having the saaaame exact symptoms as last time i would bite the bullet by another and if it fixed it great..and if it didnt just turn around and sell it

So here's another question: when testing the CAS, the FSM says that voltages between terminals 1 & GND/2 & GND should fluctuate between .1V and 5V when the ignition is on and the CAS is turned slowly. Does that mean that it should just stay anywhere within that range or that it should actually get up to (or pretty close to) 5V and then back down to around .1V and so on? When I spin (either of) mine, they generally stay below 1V and occasionally spike up to around 1.1V-1.2V but never go above that. Is that right or should they be fluctuating a bit higher than that? Thanks.
