K, so my car has been running crapily. It'll idle, but when I give it gas it bogs out and the rpms will actually drop to about 1.5k rpm and will occasionally hit just enough to maintain that rpm. When I let off the gas it returns to it's normal idle. It'll gain rpm half hazardly up to about 1/4 throttle, after that it just bogs out and misfires on all 4 cylinders everytime, no hit's, all misses untill I get below 1/4 throttle agian.

So I decided to check fuel preassure. I was thinking the preassure regulator might be stuck open returning too much fuel causing it to have enough fuel to idle, but not enough to run WOT.

So I unhooked the fuel return line and planned on having a friend block it so that it would increase fuel preassure causing the car to run properly. (this would prove my theory of stuck open regulator) Instead what happened is there was NO fuel coming out, AT ALL. We just stared at this fuel line hanging disconnected with nothing coming out of it while we reved the engine and played with the throttle (it obviously ran exactly the same)

So what does that mean?? How in the hell could their be absolutely nothing coming out of the fuel return line???

So nobody has any idea what could cause no fuel in return line??

I pulled out the pressure regulator and thier is a spring loaded metal piece blocking the flow of fuel through the regulator. It takes about 50 pounds of force to compress the spring at all and I know the car can't make that much vacumn by a long shot. I don't understand. Is it sposed to have that metal piece in it??

Check your vacuum line, maybe it is leaking or clogged?

Vacumn good... Fuel filter's less than 6 months old and it's for a 300zx TT, and yes fuel pump is working. I hooked a clear line to the fuel filter and ran it to a gas can and sure enough, car on, fuel flowing through line. Seems to have preassure though I cannot get a fuel preassure reading as I have no way to do it and I can't drive it to get someplace that can.
