I'm sure this has been covered, but I am having difficulty finding what I need.

I just finished installing the engine, and now no spark. I'm sure I missed something small but does anyone have a good picture showing the electronics and locations inside the engine bay? Car cranks over and when I pulled a spark plug I could dif smell gas. I can hear the fuel pump pressurize. but when I pulled a plug and watched for spark as the ignition was cranked... nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is the ECU powering up? and are you getting fuel?

You might check your main fuses, sometimes those things blow when you hook things back up...

ok fuses are good, pretty sure all grounds are hooked up. The engine cranks over but still no spark. Removed a spark plug def has gas. What could I be missing. not familiar with these cars so please help. Its most likely something small or overlooked.

Are you 100% sure all the grounds are hooked up because a bad ground can mean no spark. Check the grounds for the coil packs.

Are there any codes at all?

"not familiar with these cars so please help"

All the 90-95 engines have technology that has grown [copied] to be included on on almost every V6-V8 sold today.
Crank, cam angle sensors, coil on plugs, MAF, 32 valve V8.

Observe the coil waveform [current flow] thru fuse as one does with injector fuse during cranking.

still no codes, checked and rechecked grounds. Everything looked right.

Q45Tech can you explain more about how to check the coil waveform?

You need a oscilloscope to read the wave form.

In the service manual it says to check:

Fast idle cam
Idle Air Control Valve/Auxilary Air Control Valve
Spark plugs
ECU and harness

Check for ignition spark:

1.) Disconnect coil assembly from rocker cover

2.) Connect a known good spark plug to coil assembly.

3.) Place end of spark plug to a suitable ground and check for spark.

Try looking in the service manual to test the Crank Angle Sensor: Nicoclub.com/FSM.

I'm checking those now.

There is also a connector that comes out of the coil pack harnesses both sides that is a male connection. But, there is now female for it that I can find??? It is a two prong black connector, I can not find it in any manual or online. Please someone tell me I'm not crazy.

edit:
Also, I'm not sure but I read in one of the posts that these cars don't do well with bosch plugs, is this true? If so what plugs should I get, it has the platinum bosch now.

Nope that connector is in the service manual under the timing section (Checking the engine timing). Those are okay to be unplugged.

still no spark. everything else comes on all power features of the car works. the starter is cranking, the fuel is in the chamber. no spark. all grounds are on.

I am truly lost on this one. when I try cranking the motor it sounds almost like the starter is having to struggle to turn the motor put it is spinning fine. I have it hooked up to jumper cables from my suburban to make sure it has a continued supply of power. just cant get the spark plugs to fire.

Any ideas to what I am missing.

**I need to figure this out I'm down to one car for the family**** :ohno:

So you don't have spark...

Start with a known good ECU, Spark plugs, Coil Packs, Power Transistor. If all that is good then check the wiring.

Does the car start when you hold the accelerator to the floor to tell the ECU to stop spraying fuel in the cylinder?

is there a way that I can test the ECU, coil packs and power transistor?

No it does not change if the accelerator is on the floor.

ok, may have put a wire in wrong ground location. Not sure cant find online(using AllData) as a service manual. I really just need to see a picture or diagram of the wiring on the passenger side of the engine bay. Mainly close to the battery from the main fuse box there is a large wire loom that goes down below to the alternator and starter, where does the small ground wire coming off that loom attach?

All the grounds are in the service manual as well, the pictures aren't the best but they have something there.

We'll see what the picture shows but the only smallish ground wire coming from the bundlle looks like it bolts to the (square) frame about 2" aft of the pair of large ground wires bolted to the frame. The hole is pre-tapped. You'll need a 10mm bolt.

It looks like this one bolted to the frame rail (10mm bolt near center of pic) below the edge of the battery. In the pic you posted the 1/4" diameter metal tubing that runs up in about the middle of the pic may have shifted covering the hole. Look under it.
