so the other day i was driving and heard this loud scratching noise... parked the car and checked. the under liner of the car, thats under the engine was falling down and scraping the ground. i think, ill be home in about 10 minutes, ill fix it then. i also didnt have any zip ties or anything so i had to do it at home.

so im driving home and i hit a minor dip at like 20, and then i hear this big BANG and scrape... then look out my rear view mirror and see my liner in the middle of the intersection. after i pull over and TRY to retrieve it its too late because some idiots already ran over it... then theres like 4 pieces now. when i saw that, i just didnt care.

so i hopped back into my car and drove home. after i got home and checked what was missing, i realize not only was the under liner gone... but it also took off the fender liner thing of the drivers side. exposing the main harnesses.

so is it a bad thing that its exposed ?... does anyone know what im talking about lol

Same thing happened to me, except it was on an off-ramp. After I got over the near-heart-attack upon hearing that horrible noise, it was hilarious. People behind me, to say the least, freaked out. I've been driving without any of the plastic underbody pieces for months. They're not too bad at Nissan when you want to replace them- I think about 30 bucks per side.

My fender liner just got ripped out when I went offroad a few days ago. I haven't put it back yet but I think I'm going to. The middle piece was falling off though, so I just took it off and don't plan on putting it back. The other day I heard a clunk from the back of my car and I looked in the rearview and saw my tire iron bouncing around. I didn't go after it though.

i would replace the fender liners. that area on s13s is pretty prone to rusting.
