No electrical power to engine bay??!?!?!

ok so my friends car started up and drove just fine and all of a sudden one day he went to start it and the fuel pump wouldnt turn on? so we checked all the wiring for that and when i went to check the relays in the engine bay NONE OF THEM HAVE POWER!!! nothing beyond the firewall seems to have power except the lower harness. They car will crank over but nothing else works thats electrical. The interior stuff works, and if i take out the ALT fuelable link all the interior turns off, so there must be power gettin to that Relay box. Do you have any clue why the 2 main relay boxes have no power to the engine bay, just the interior?
