No EGR Problems

Has anyone bought an aftermarket header and not had any egr problems. i looked throught the forums and nobody comes and out and says buy this header it has worked great and everything bolted right in. i am starting my ka-t project and have found most the stuff i want except for the header. Any help would be great.

I've never had problems with my egr on my 91.. it's been off the car for a long time and there hasn't been a check engine light or anything.

you are looking for a header for your ka-t? the egr not throwing an engine code is an anomaly for your car i guess. every 240 i owned throws a code when you take the egr off.

^ Mine didn't, I have to eliminate my EGR when I installed my NA headers and had no problems. Its been fine so far. ( about 6 months)

I dont want to just cover up the egr i want a header that i can just bolt in with no problems .

That means that you can't go cheap and have to dish out some money for a Exhaust manifold by a company that did actual R&d and made it (EGR Valve) fit correctly.

FYI, if you look in the FSM there is an extra sensor thrown in the california model cars that monitors the EGR temp. ONLY in a california car will EGR removal trigger a code.

Studstill,If your going KA-t your probably better off just ditching the EGR.

Well im not sure if my car is a california model. how do i tell.

and also is there a good header that has the egr completely removed so i dont have to rig up some kind of patch job on it.

Still not sure if you're talking about a header or a turbo manifold....but for a tubro manifold....most of them don't have an egr port or anything for emissions.
