no dash lights?

hey i just bought a 91 240 in ohio on sunday and tonight i was just taking it around my block and i couldnt get the dash lights to light up. if i press one of the heat options or air conditioning or defroster the green light turns on but my gauges dont light up. my headlights were on and i played with the switch with the light. the dimmer im guessing? is that right? anyway anybody know what the problem could be? i called the guy i bought it from and he said they were working for him. he was a really nice guy so i doubt he was lying. let me know what you guys think. thanks

best bet is it's the "White box" on the drivers side kick panel, they go out...so get a new/used one and it should be better, or a solder in the gauge could have broke....

join up there, maybe someone local has a white box you could try to see if thats the problem.
