recently I decided to replace my fuel pump but I had a dead battery so I wanted to jump it with the fuel pump relay disconnected so that it would just relieve all the fuel pressure in the fuel lines so I could remove the pump and replace it without as much of a mess and that way I could jump it again with the new fuel pump and hold an idle while the battery recharged but then I tried starting it up it cranked once and hasn’t cranked since. has anyone ever encountered something like this and if so how was it fixed? (I’m a Highschool student that is currently jobless for a bit until i can get me a job at a buddys lube shop so I don’t have much money)

When you say cranked once do mean it tried to start? Did it turn over but never fire? Is it refusing to even turn now? You could have shorted the positive when jumping it. First thing would be to get a working battery. Trying to jump things is asking for more problems and damage. Next check all the fusible links in the box by the battery and the fuses in in the other two fuse boxes. Why did you decide to replace the fuel pump? was the pump bad? did you confirm that it was the pump and not the fuel pump controller. The factory pumps are pretty stout for wear, the FPCUs are known to go bad.

I'm having kind of the same issue now as well, after jumping the relay connections so I could drain the fuel the car wont crank at all, so far I've replaced the starter and starter relay and still the same issue.
