Hey guys. I’ve done my research but still can’t figure out my issue. Car is a 91 240sx KA24de-t. To bring you back, I started the car to warm it up. Turned it off early (before it was warmed up) to check on something under the hood. Tried to start it again but it was only cranking. I’ve had this problem 1 or 2 times before and if I let it sit for a couple minutes and come back it would start back up, but after coming back and attempting to start the car would not crank and I would get a singular click out of a relay. I’ve tried:

-Jumping the car
-Bypassing the starter relay
-Bypassing the clutch switch (button that gets pressed when clutch in)
-Jumping the starter
-Checker grounds for Passenger and Driver side fuse boxes under hood
-Checked ground on Driver side strut tower
-Checked grounds on Engine block (one by the #1 injector and other on backside of the engine block drivers side)

This car is an absolute POS that I plan on drifting. The previous owner had 0 knowledge on how to do ANYTHING properly (ex. Self tappers to hold the PS reservoir on). I am slowly fixing the car to a good standard but I am at a loss on what to check. I want to check the ignition switch (where the key is inserted into) but am unsure how to do so. Am I able to “Hotwire” the car to check this? If so how would I go about it? Any and all input is greatly appreciated!

Put juice directly to the solenoid terminal. If it doesn't spin, the problem has to be in the starter main cable, the starter itself, or the engine is seized. There are really only those three choices. If it does spin, then the problem is upstream in the relay, ignition switch, start circuit fuse, etc.

So went and bought a new starter yesterday, tried to start, nothing (same problem). Buddy of mine went to go supply power directly to the solenoid on the starter and put it in the wrong spot and fried the starter. Not that big of a deal as I’ll just go exchange it. I will try spinning the engine from the crank when I get home from work today. If it does spin and I rule out a seized motor do you have any exact suggestions that I haven’t already tried? How would. I go about (if possible) testing the ignition switch because I still believe that may be my problem at hand. Thanks!
