no crank, no lights

my 2001 Pathfinder has lost all or most of its electrical power. i tried jumping it to a running car. nothing . i replaced the battery with new. nothing. i checked for loose wire. found none. i have heard a slight click from a relay under the hood, drivers side near firewall. i my stumped.

Nope. Did you check the terminals for voltage drop? Wouldn't be the first time a battery lug looked fine on the outside but wasn't conducting anything.

i am on a new battery. i sandpapered the terminals.

Well, only voltage and voltage-drop is going to tell you where the problem is. Power loss in one or two systems is one thing, but complete loss is always easy to track down. Put the key in the On position, start at the battery and see where the voltage goes away.

120 amp fuse in fuse box near battery.

now you just need to try to find out what caused the fuse to blow

Shorting brush in the alternator is a good bet.
