My friend told me it was taking a couple of time to start the car, it would crank and not start, so it was brought over to my house and looking at it. It did the same thing, heard the fuel pump, cycled the key same thing, when it started pulling throttle and it goes, so no issue with fuel getting to the engine. Now here is the kicker.

I said, let look at the plugs, never changed in 110,... miles. So i looked at middle front one, gap was at .043 (limits are .039-.043) So figured that some of the other plugs might be lower and causing an issue. So then, i said, another day we will put a set in. Replaced plug started it up, same issue, did that 3 times to make sure it would at least start for him. Went to go leave and now, it will not even crank, got 12.4v on battery, 11.6 with key in on position.

Starter was replaced 18 months ago. does not seem to be a security issue, turn of key and nothing, light on dash are fine, its like it is not getting power to starter. Going to try to jump care just in case bat looks good but not, get it load tested and AUTOZONE, then i am going to see if there is power getting to the starter. Cause with all that crap in the way to the starter, someone was not too smart. Hahahah

Thanks if you can Help

Grant

It looks like batter is ok and power is getting to the starter. With this car, can i use a screw driver like back in that day to jump start it? Read some where that the ingition switch might be the problem, but don't want to just toss parts at it.

Thanks Grant

are the lights on the car working? If they are, turn them on and try to crank the car. If the lights die its power problem. If its not the battery its the battery terminals. Let me know, I check the forums a lot. If needed, email me at my forum name at yahoo or gmail

So the key doesnt turn at all? If you cant turn the key, the steering wheel is locked....push the brake, wiggle the steering wheel, while also trying to turn the key

I really thank you for trying to help, but no crank means, i turn key, and no crank. No attempt to start, no clicking at starter.

not that it cranks and doesn't start, or i can't turn the key in ignition to start car.

Sorry if i sound like a jerk right there, It just pisses me off that i broke down in my garage at my house and it is a good friend.

Thanks

But if you can help, please toss some idea's,

I thinking i might have to bang on the new start that i put in year and a half ago. haha, just have to here the ok from owner to do so. Its a bosch starter

Well it turned out to be the damn 1 1/2 yr old starter, replacing it tomorrow. The Solenoid is acting up, i had to hot hit it with a positive lead on on it where that wire that plugs to it goes. got it to act up and then it ran for a bit sut it off and had to do it again. Grrrrrr
Hopefully will be fixed tomorrow
