Hello all. I just finished putting a newer motor into my 95 240sx. Everything is working except the radio. When I plug in the adapter harness, I checked the radio ignition (red) and there was 12V in it. I checked the constant yellow wire but there is no power. Checked the ground coming out the adapter harness and no ground. I plugged in another adapter harness that I had and still teh same thing. What could be the problem? I've checked the "radio" and "12V" fuses under the dash and they are good. Checked the "radio" fuse in the engine bay and it is still good

I checked the service manual and replaced the 7.5A elect. batt. fuse and yellow wire is good now. Black still has no ground, which is not a problem because the screws holding the unit in and antena wire will provide ground.

You're damn right it's not a problem. Your car doesn't have a ground wire in the radio wire harness.

Yeah... you learned it the hard way like most of us did the first time. If you'll look more closely, you'll see that when you follow the 'ground wire' from your aftermarket harness adapter to the factory connector, there isn't a wire in the connector to connect to it.
