Well I broke the connector off my maf but i had it soldered back on just like oem. Now I blew my eng control 25a fuse. I switched ecu and new fuse. Now my car wont start or no cel or oil light??? What all causes this? I double checked the cel at the ecu and its not on either?

I hate this POS car, its going to cause me to fail my school. Nothing but problems is all I ever have. Maybe if I'm lucky somebody will trade me a geo metro for this thing.

Do you have power coming from the ignition switch ? Power to ecu?

How do I check that out? It will crank over and that is about it. No spark or fuel pump prime now. I apologize for my disgust for my car, just everything has to break at once.

Double check all of your fuses then check the ECCS relay.

I looked and I dont see anything called eccs? My car has all 1989 stuff. I dont think I would have burnt anything up, I have never overfused anything. I swapped out egi and egi pump, but the cel wont come on still.

It is the relay that powers the ECU.

ok I took out the egi which is supposed to be the eccs. i applied 12v and it was clicking and looks good according to the fsm. I pulled a few out and they seem good.

Now tomorrow I will see if i am getting 12v to the relay plugs.

I would unplug the MAF sensor and double check the wires, look at FSM to make sure they in correct pin locations. I think you have ground and B+ backwards.

Check all your fuses again. Leave MAF unplugged and turn switch on. See if you have power to ECU. You may have to replace the relay. If you had wires backwards then it would over heat contacts in relay. The relay will still click, but no power will go through it.

i checked my soldered leads for continuity and all seemed good, nothing touching, I have been leaving the maf unplugged just incase that was the problem. I know I soldered it right here was only 3 leads in mine. but who knows.

I'm going to the library to get a chilton and whatever manuals for the 240sx. The free pdf ones arent extremely detailed.

I'm getting 12v to the egi and egi pump sockets. Is it possible they both could have blew?

Here is a link for factory service manuals. You can bookmark and save link to your computer, these are way better than the others. You need to unplug the computer connector and test for power and ground. Pin #35 blk/red wire is the ign switch. This turns on the computer. You should have 12v KOEO. Then the computer will ground pin #4 red/blk wire to turn on the eccs relay.

The ECCS relay has a brown fuse link wire, not a fuse. You should check all the fuse links as well.

Thanks for that. Which download shows the ecu pin out for 1991-1994? One I downloaded couldn't be found.

With the key on you should be getting battery voltage to pins 38 and 47

Im getting 2.6V to the E9 gray connector b/w wire. That wire goes to pins 38/47 and 109 all ecu main power. Now should this wire be 12V constant? What could short out before this point for no ecu power?

Thanks for trying to help me along with whatever this is. It is just killing me. Also that same wire supposedly goes to the dizzy. with key on I got some odd voltage as well like 2.3V to that wire.

What should I do to test that? It cranks over, and I can hear the ign relay working.

See if you are getting power from the black with red stripe wire.
