Hello, someone know way and how? :wtf2:

Few days ago we get some rain (a lot), I get a yellow light and I try to stop, nothing happen. I run the red light with my full brake pedal to the bottom. I get a ticket.

I take the car to the dealer (thirteen days ago in the dealer they replace the brake fluid), and I ask them to look in the problem.

They can't find nothing wrong, a air bubble possibly they say.

They return the Rogue to me and I don't feel safe, so I go to a empty parking lot, set the reverse and I go hard in the gas and after hard to the brakes.

In 1977 I just to drive a Maverick and you can adjust the brakes in that way.

The funny thing is that work. but the Rogue Select have disk brakes in the front and back.

Some one have a explanation for this? I'm not a mechanic, but now I touch the brake pedal and I stop, I feel the brakes are exactly like before the fluid replacement.

Tomorrow I have some time free and I think in take the Rogue to be inspected in a independent shop.

Any comments?

Thank you

Applying your brakes hard while in reverse worked for adjusting drum brakes, like on your 77 Maverick, but have no effect on disc brakes. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, which means it can attract and hold water. The more water in your brake fluid, the less effective it is in being able to generate enough hydraulic pressure in your brake system to stop your vehicle. So yes, it's possible your brake fluid was comprised and that affected your brakes. I know some may disagree with me, but changing your brake fluid every 2-3 years is a good idea, and not just a way for dealers to make more profit on servicing your vehicle.

I know calipers can seize, but 2 of them that's bizarre. Just curious, how many miles were on the vehicle when this happened? I agree RIP Chris Kyle, a real American hero...

the 2002 nissan maxima GLE had about 120k. but with our rogues, these calipers go at around 30-60k. i already replaced all FOUR on the rogue, and it was under 60k

hey, check your PM's

Stricken: Can you elaborate on this a little? Was the fluid low and/or dark? What do you think caused them to seize - moisture? Were you able to stop with the front only?
Thanks,
Paul

the fluid was fine. i had no idea this problem was building up. i can tell you that nissan calipers are total junk. i made a video about it (listed below). i pushed the pedal to the floor, and nothing. no power. i stopped by down shifting the auto shifting.
