I was driving around town, and all of a sudden I notice my brake pedal is EXTREMELY squishy. So I take it really easy, and then the brake pedal does nothing. I use the parking brake to stop once I pulled off the road. I was stranded there with no phone or anything, but I was close to my friends house. So I managed to get there.

What could of caused this? My rear brake calipers were always sort of grindy sounding, and brake pedal alittle squishy. But, never anything like this before. When I floor the brake pedal the brakes will catch a litte bit, but only enough to barely slow the car down.

(I have plenty of brake fluid)

you have a fluid leak soewhere or the master is bypassing internally. the pedal is dropping cause there is air in the system. you could try bleeding it but I suspect your gonna be replacing something most likely the master cyl.

Someone told me this:

My brake pads got so thin that the caliper pistons pushed themselves too far out, and all the fluid in the lines came out that way.

When I bought the car there was a brand new master cylinder in the trunk. I guess i'll install that.
