hello all, i've got a funny kind of problem for my friend.. she said that today her car started to make a couple strange sounds, but only when she slows down or comes to a stop. it sounds a little bit like grinding up front and you can feel it inside the car.
she has no back pressure on the brake pedal while driving.
so of course first i checked to make sure there was brake fluid. it was between empty and full, a little more on the empty side, but still well above the line. next, i tried to see if there were any leaks, but it was at night and it was raining, so i couldn't spot any leaks. with the engine off, back pressure builds on the pedal and the pedal does not sink.
i've decided to bleed the brakes and see what happens with that.
the REAL source of confusion for me is that, when i brake or whenever the pedal isn't hitting the brake light switch, i hear the cd player (i think it's the cd player) kind of.. screach.. the sound is similar to a door's power locks when they accuate. i'm guessing it's just a short.
both the cd player sound and lack of brakes happened at the same time.. do you guys think they're related? i'll investigate more tomorrow, but i hope someone has some input.
thanks in advance!
