Ok so I'm a little farther on my car seems like for every step forward I take two back. First Question is what should my timing be set at for the greddy turbo kit because we pulled the distributor to get at the mainifold bolts and well now timeing is screwed up. I busted out the timeing light and it was about 17 atdc. Should I have taken off the crank pos. sensor to do this? I think that there is a boost leak somewhere but I don't know how to look for it other then feeling with my hand for air being sucked along the pipes and intercooler is there a good way to check it out? What about with a steascope? any sugestions?

Also my car seems to lag more then it should i changed to the fpr for my boost signal and it seems that there is a delay in boost and there is not any boost in 1st gear and when I shift into second gear there is boost on the gauge and it comes up like what I think would be normal.

well, 17 Atdc is very very wrong. it should be 15 btdc.

you might want to pull out a few degrees just for saftey [12-13 btdc]

not having boost in first gear is normal. theres not enough of a load on the engine to spin the turbo.

the same reason you dont get boost when you rev the car in neutral. theres no load on the engine.

ok so yeah i looked back at the book and it was 17 btdc so i should take it back to 12-13 and should I set it up with or with out the tps on the distributor?

If you are using the greddy turbo kit with the emanage I'm pretty sure your timing should remain stock. Disconect the TPS and set the timing to 18-20 degrees.

To check for leaks the best way is to use a tire pump to pressurize the pipes with the engine off. Then ran your hand and ears through the pipes to check for leaks.

My 93s FSM says 20BTDC. I'm sure it's the same in all KA24DE

With the TPS disconnected turn the idle screw until you get around 650rpms

I took a hose attached to my air compressor and put pressurized air in the compression pipe and checked for leaks. There were no leaks so I took the car and went for a little ride.
