I'm new to all this and its my first car ever. I just bought a 91 300zx TT and when im driving around i notice that the boost gauge wont go past zero. when i let go of the gas it goes to about -13psi but goes to around -1psi when i push the gas all the way down, I don't know anybody that knows about turbos. but I've been looking at other forums and they talk about boost leaks and bad turbos. is there a way i can check if its either one?

i also have this clicking sound when i press the gas but as i let go it goes away, won't do the noise when i'm in park or neutral if i hit the gas, only in Drive. please help, hoping its nothing major.

Welcome!! Not the best FIRST car, but a very fun car when running right. First things to read is "everything you need to know about...." on the main Z page. This will tell you pretty much what you need to know about just anything.

First question, are you absolutely sure you have a TT motor in the car? Are you sure its a TT? It sounds like you have a very large vac leak, if you have a TT engine. Have you checked for ECU codes? Don't just rely on the check engine light, sometimes it will not illuminate. You actually need to check the ECU for the codes.

Another question, how good are you at working on cars? These are very picky cars and finicky.
