Well I just picked up a used head unit from a guy at work for essentially nothing, it's a XO Vision X344GT, single din with a motorized touchscreen. I got it for $30 because he said the dvd and cd functions didn't work.

When I hooked it up in my car (89 240) it reads discs, even plays DVDs, but there is no audio, or it sounds choppy and distorted. Do you guys think this is something simple that I can fix, or that part or the head unit is a loss?

I won't be too pissed if it's beyond repair because it has an Aux input for my ipod and I listen to a lot of radio anyway.

Thanks for lookin, and I appreciate any help you can provide!

You could probably pop it apart and see if there are any cables disconnected between the disc transport and the rest of the unit. Anything past that, and it probably wouldn't be worth having it fixed.
