No air from drivers vents.

I have a 87 300zx 2+2 and the air conditioning when on the driver vent position air only comes out of the defroster. I have it on the right setting on the climate control. Sometimes a little air comes out of the drivers vents , but very little. the climate control has ben replaced and still have the same issue. Have any of you had this issue? and do you know possibly what the issue is? It doesn't have a digital dash. and the air is very cold when on.

HVAC system are designed to default to the defrost mode in case of failure so you can continue to see and safely drive the car.
IIRC, the actuators in that car are vacuum actuated. If there is no, or poor vacuum to the inside components, it will just blow through the defroster.
Look at the hoses under the hood that bring engine vacuum inside for starters
The actuators inside the car can fail too, and wont hold vacuum. Listen for hissing.
