No air conditioner display :( - 4/99 QX4 (JL R50)

All worked fine! Took it in for a wash and detailing. Picked it up and NO DISPLAY on the A/C 'screen'. The A/C blows well (cold, too) and the buttons work (by feeling and hearing). Checked fuses per Infiniti Manual Section HA, Pg. HA-48, Auto Amp. Check (15 amp: 1, 2; 7.5 amp: 11, 24). All good.

Section HA, Manual - Heater and Air Conditioning, Step-By-Step Procedure, Page HA-37. Item 2, "Do all LEDs and segments illuminate?" Display Malfunction. "No" -> Malfunctioning OFF switch, LED, or fluorescent display tube. Replace A/C auto amp.

Sure! Makes sense to me - NOT!

S'pose I need to pull off the console cover; pull out the A/C unit; see what's at the back...maybe an arrow pointing to "Change bulb here"...

Any thoughts/assistance?

On my 02 Qx4 the dash light dimmer switch dims that display as well. You sure they didn't just turn your dashlights way down? You might not have noticed that if you haven't driven at night yet.
