I've been working on my '97 240sx and have come across a problem:

The car has no power on take off/ in general. To start moving what so every the car has to be floored. The car does not miss-fire or any type of buckling. There is no coolant in the oil or vice-versa. The car ran fine before. I pulled up to a stop light then all of a sudden engine power was lost.

We have removed the spark plugs and they are white as if the car is running lean.

I'm hoping to get more information before I dive head first into this project.

The check engine light as been on for a while. We do not have access to a code reader. Last time I checked the codes were :A bad knock sensorA bad O2 sensorAnd leaking evac system.

Any guess or ideas would help. Just point me in the right direction.Thanks.

bad O2 sensor can make it run lean or rich(flood the engine) check all vacume hoses cuz that is what was wrong with mine. mine had no power period and took forever to get to 40MPH. that is all i can really think of man. good luck

We did a compression test:1st: 1502nd: 1303rd: 70-90 (increased to 120 by adding oil)4th: 130.

We check all visible vacuum hoses but none of them seem horribly broken. Two connecting to the Evap switch are mildly dry rotted. ( Thanks for the input!)

Then we applied the break and gave it gas. It wouldn't rev over 1k rpm. After releasing the gas the idle bounced from .5k-1k rpm for about 2-3 seconds.
