My friend read this on his car forum, he said that by taking out the ABS fuse and disengaging the ABS the car will accelerate faster. Is this safe to do to a 96 i30t's/maxima's or will it cause problems cuz these newer cars have so many sensors and electrical wirings?

Disabling ABS will not affect acceleration. ABS only activates under braking conditions to keep the tires from locking up. It has nothing to do with acceleration at all. I guess one could argue that removing all ABS equipment would reduce the car's weight, but removing the fuse will make absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Also, your insurance company probably shows your car as having ABS. If you were to get in an accident and make a claim, there's a chance your claim could be denied if you have removed the ABS system.

Removing ABS isn't necessarily a dangerous thing to do, though. It can be, but that doesn't mean it always will be. I've driven plenty of cars without ABS and never been in a situation where I would have needed ABS.

I would recommend against elminating it on your I30, though, especially if it's a daily driver and not a track car. It isn't hurting anything and getting rid of it won't do you any good.
