hey everyone, just got my swap finished and after 2 days of driving around my car started to sputter and miss. Idle is fine, Vacuum is fine...checked all 4 coilpacks and they spark fine on all the other cylinders. I tested all of the spark plugs and they fire. I also took the coilpack harness off and tested it...fine also...

I don't think it would be a bad ignitor because all the other cylinders have spark. Could it just be a shorted wire in the wiring harness or a wire that grounded itself out? Next thing I'll check is if my ECU's plug isn't fully connected but the car's sleeping at a friends house in san jose...didn't really want to drive 35 miles on 3 cylinders...

Fuel and compression are both fine so this is def. an electrical issue....I just hate this wild goose chase bull**** right now! I want to drive my damn sr!!

Help would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance!

Check your ignitor, I've seen plenty of them kill spark to one cylinder.

That or switch ignitors with someone else and see if you get spark.

Does anyone know what my ignitor should be reading on a multimeter? And can anyone refer me to a good place to pick an ignitor up in case it has failed?

what section of the fsm would the reading be in?

Wait, can you use the 300zx and q45 ignitors with the sr20?

alright guys, fixed the problem. The ecu plug is cracked...i just unbolted it and plugged it back in and the engine runs fine now. but i really don't like the fact that i have a cracked ecu plug. i don't want to have to keep unplugging and plugging it if the problem comes back. what's the best way to fix this without getting a new wiring harness? i guess just cutting the wires and soldering on a new plug?

I'd say electric tape it around the harness a few times with it plugged in. That should keep it together. I wouldn't tape it to the ecu though.
