Got this off one of those What's News! things when I log into my ISP.

Quote »Fully 95 percent of women will notice their date's car. The No. 1 thing they are most likely to pay attention to is the vehicle's cleanliness both inside and out, according to survey conducted by Ford Motor Co.

The Ford Fusion "Life in Drive" Dating Survey of 422 single adults ages 25 to 40 nationwide revealed that it's not just your car, but the state of your car that can make an impression on your date, with 58 percent saying that the condition of their date's vehicle would at least somewhat impact their attraction to the person. Females felt more strongly about their date's car condition than males with 69 percent saying it would at least somewhat impact their attraction to their date compared to 47 percent of males. "If your car is dirty outside and cluttered with wrappers and junk inside, that delivers a personality message to your date that could very well impact the evening and your future prospects," said Sherrie Schneider, co-author of the best-selling book "The Rules." "Your car offers a very visual view of the person you are dating before a single word is ever spoken." Her co-author Ellen Fein thinks our cars are viewed as an extension of ourselves. "You often get one chance to make a right impression and, many times, your car is one of the first personal things your date sees about you," says Fein. "Similar to your clothes, your car says something about you and your style. The interior trim, leather seats, bold colors all reveal something about you."

The survey uncovered some fun facts about dating, love and cars:What is your most embarrassing car date moment? My date told me I am a bad driver: 22 percentI suffered an upset stomach: 16 percentI was pulled over for speeding: 15 percentGetting into a fender bender: 10 percentGetting caught fooling around: 2 percent

What is your favorite car date activity?Talking or getting to know my date better: 43 percentSightseeing: 28 percentKissing: 16 percentListening to music: 14 percent [/quote]

The Maxima is currently loaded with garbage and coated in layers of salt, crime, and mud. Plus there's a computer monitor on the back seat that I havent bothered putting in the house. I think I'll just leave it. I just cant justify cleaning this car in the cold when I didnt buy it to impress anyone.

IMO, a clean car is a statement about yourself. To me, it's just like personal hygiene. I wouldn't touch the door handle on a bird crap covered, dirt bomb of a car, I'd probably just be like "I'll drive.". Chicks are actually the worst sometimes, which trips me out. I bet they wouldn't cary a filthy hand-bag around and wear dirty clothes, is the house like that too? Yuck.

I think people in general always seem to comment how clean my car is. I realize that I don't live in a snowy climate, but I lived in MD for 10 years, that was long enough to see some big snow-storms that would shut things down for days. I would take my car (whatever it was at the time) to the car wash on the first day it was above freezing and wash it - even if I knew it was going to snow again in a few days.

I had a friend that I used to valet with in Atlanta (actually he got me the job). He used to wash his car literally everyday when he got home. If he was feeling lazy, he'd just rinse it off and wipe it down. Washing that often cant be good for the clearcoat.

I wash the 240sx pretty regularly. Ive NEVER washed my Accord and Ive had it for 6 months, haha.

as a side note,,,,,,,,there was a book i used to have about getting out of speeding tickets, written by an ex-state trooper. he did say that when a cop pulls you over and see's a well kept car, inside and out, he's more likely to cut you a break than if the car was a disgusting mess. just shows the cop that you take the whole driving thing somewhat seriously!!!!

what i really can't understand is the complete idiots that put a bumper sticker on their car that says, "bad cop, no donut"!!!! brain dead! they deserve the ticket. like going to an eagles game dressed head to toe in cowboys stuff, antagonizing eagles tailgaiters, then wondering why you got your *** kicked!!!! LoL

For some strange reason I've always kept my cars clean, probably since it's easier than the embarassment and work to get it nice... if put off too long.

Cleaned up after some real pigs (REAL PIGS) working at shops over the years !!

I think it was established in another thread that girls are suckers for ANYTHING shiny.

(Ie. Jewelry, freshly cleaned and waxed cars, polished belt buckles, etc.)

Matt has it right... It's actually a modified SC flag. The real one has an all blue background.

This one is garnet and black - the colors of the University of South Carolina.

One thing I've noticed is that since I'd sold my JEEP, chicks don't show me their BOOBS any more! I used to see at least one set a week ! I'm driving my "Old Lady" and women of Balzac's age are looking at me. It makes me feel a bit older I wish I still drove my ole trusty Jeep!

I think I've posted this story like 4 times, but hey, you asked what girls notice.

And, because this thread is useless without hot women:

(Just so you get an idea of the kind of girl we're talking about here)

Picking my friend Megan up from the airport, she sees the Q, jaw drops a bit, opens the door and slides into the leather. She breathes out a little bit, and says...

"I think I just got a little orgasm from your car."

Try getting that reaction from a Honda. *grin*
