recently my baby<my ride: 93 240sx coupe> has been troublin' me. my alternator belt or powersteerin belt or sumthing else that i'm unaware of, stratches and squeaks when i accelerate pass 2200rpm... the higher i rev. the louder it gets... and the noise is coming from around the belts/pulleys/fan. i've tried belt dressing... that didn't help for ****. seems like it made it worst... but the first time it started makin squeaks, was because of me spraying some belt dressing on. then as days/wweeks past... it got worst. Could it be?... that one of the belt is too tight? and it can't handle the pressure when being revved at higher rpm? i'm not quite sure but maybe someone out there knows more and could help a brotha out. squeaks and nasty noises = embarassing and not smooth! someone help!

Belt dressing is just a temp fix. They may be getting wet from coolant leaking from the weeper on the water pump. I would just change them for new ones.

I had one that was too loose that did the same thing. New belts FTW!
