Our tires on our G37x Sport model got to the point where they are simply terrible. Lot of hydroplaning at 20,0000 miles. Stock tires are Dunlop Sport Maxx. The size I have on all four is 225 / 50 / 18

I considered the following:

Continental Extreme Contact DWS
Nitto Motivo (totally new)
BF Goodrich (can't remember the model, but was a Grand Touring all-season VS: high performance all season)

BF's seemed to be a good price point option. This car is my wife's daily driver, and she is an enthusiast by female standards. She loves a car that sticks to the road while driving fast. She is a tough critic when it comes to tires.
Make a long story short, I got a sweet deal on the new Nitto Motivo tires that I could not pass up, and it was locally. I ordered them, picked them up, and had them installed by my Nissan dealer. I had them installed yesterday and my wife LOVES them!

- no steering wheel shake (Dunlops shook from day one, we had alignment checked twice at Infiniti dealer)
- nice and quiet
- super smooth!
- sticks to the road well, even flying around corner it is like a smoother roller coaster on rails
- 60,000 mile tread warranty
- made in the USA
- should handle well in wet rain and snow

LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE HAS ANY QUESTIONS! These tires just became available in this size, but they are sooooooo worth the wait!

Update this thread in about 20k miles :)

DWS do well on our cars.....Still waiting for 15k+ miles for a verdict as that seems the timeframe where traction issues creep in. DWS were expensive on my coupe tho (1200 with 1-year unlimited alignments).

True, with any tire it is a matter of how well they perform when they start getting some real miles on them. Thing is though the Dunlops literally sucked since day one. Granted, traction was much better when they were new, but the certainly were always rough riding tires.

I paid about $150 / tire for the Motivo (impressive because it was a price lower than online)............so I am certainly thrilled with that price.

Back in my Maxima days I had a set of Sumitomo HTR+ that were phenomenal (and cheap). They worked well even in 3" of snow which outperformed all other all-seasons I have tried. Unfortunately after 10k-15k miles even a damp road would result in spinning off the line. I also had two blow outs with those tires and eventually placed those on the front so overall they lasted maybe 30k miles (that's 6 tires for that distance). I believe they used a multi-compound tire where the rubber got harder as you wore them down as a means to increase distance. Damn shame because those first 10k miles were awesome.
