I was thinking of replacing my potenzas with nitto 555s. I have an 04 with 18s tmps. I can get the set of 4 (225 and 245) for $558 on discount tire. Anyone else using these tires? Thoughts? Also are they lower on the tire noise than the potenzas?

Almost all worn out 10k + directional tires are noisey unless they have been flipped on rim and rotated FREQUENTLY!

Not many tires compare with top end Michelin and Bridgestone for noise reduction.

New tires [of any brand] are always quieter than worn out tires.

Buy the best or constantly replace low cost tires at 8k are two choices.

Q45tech...I Disagree. Have you yourself ever had Nitto's555 ? or are you just posting from what you have heard?

I run nitto555 on my g35 245/35/19 and 275/35/19, and they are the best most long lasting tire I have ever used !! I used Nitto555 tires on my BMW 325i for 3 years and they worked perfectly fine. When I purchased my G, they had michelin Pilot Sports and the noise was unbareable, I got the wheels aligned and rotated which reduced road noise, but was still very loud. I replaced with nitto555 and will never use another tire. I have a freind who has a G35 as well and he has Yokahama;s on his, and my drive is smoother than his.

I Strongly recommend Nitto555

I got you all beat! Sumitomo HTRZ II The whole set shipped for under $400

Cheap as dirt, Grip like a mofo and will last you 30k under HARD driving.. I have 10k on my rears and they still look new!(65% Left)

To put that into perspective I had a set of Khumos that lasted me 8k miles... My Dunlop SportMax's lasted 15k

They are pretty noisy, but that's the price you pay for paying very little!

Yeah I've never heard of a NITTO 555 only lasting 10k miles. Was the person that told you that autocrossing/drifting every weekend?

I had Nitto 555 R drag radials on my truck. I bought them used ran them at the track for 3 years and sold them for what I paid LOL

They still had plenty of tread left. Its common knowledge that Nitto 555 drag radials can last 15,000 miles in normal street use so I highly doubt that the regular Nitto 555 last only 10 k miles.

Even the way I drive I get 20k miles out of directional tires.

Q45 Tech I'm going to have to dust off and pull out the good ole, for ya

I would say the 555 is one of the best tires I have used for the money. I have them on all my cars, not the G yet. Best for traction and last a long time if you use proper air pressure and rotation. A 9.5 out of 10

If you are looking for a 18" Rim size Go to tire rack and buy General Exclaim UHP tires... I will bet money on that you love them and will never buy another tire again. They are only like 117 each and they last 40k+ I got 26k out of them on my is300 and i sold the car.. It had more than 50% left on the tires...

General Exclaim you can't go wrong.. Very quite too!

Do some research on the Tire rack web site.... It is like the number 1 or 2 rated tire on the site in the UHP catagory. I think like a $300 + tire is in the number one spot now.. but the general was #1 when i bought them!

the 19's were 245.00 for the rear and 200.00 for the front so...890.00 installed.......the 18's I had on the Beemer were cheaper though. I put 35K miles on the 18's and sold the car, the wheels still had a good amount of tread left to them.....I was suprised,

in closing...Get The nitto 555 ! you will not be dissapointed
