I am contemplating using nitrous oxide in my 92 240SX, it is a daily driver so I only want to use a dry 50 shot. I have a couple questions however:

I don't want this to be complicated, this is my daily driver, all it has is an intake, muffler (from previous owner) and I may soon add the ASM pulley. A few other things like removed mechanical fan and suspension work I also have. My plan is for a 10lb bottle and only to be used once in a while, maybe 5 times a month or so. I chose dry because it is more simple than a wet, now my questions.

If I buy a used wet kit, can this be used dry, as in just not using the fuel solenoid?

What is a pass exactly? I see people saying a 10lb bottle will last 10-12 passes, is a pass a standing 1/4 mile? I don't drag race so this is more for a boost on the highway. How many 45-113mph runs will this support? I suppose only all of third and fourth gear only and maybe part of second occasionally. Is it possible to arm it and not run it in 1st with a normal setup even though it is armed in first?

And what's the least number of things I can get by with for this 50-55 shot. A bottle, jets etc. Do I need a bottle heater? Gauges? Purge valve? etc. I would like to get by with the minimum to make my setup reliable. I don't mind retarding base timing a couple degrees or anything, all i want is a window switch to activate at full throttle when armed. Thanks for the help.

i thought u just use purge valves on wet and direct port kits. correct me if i'm wrong. and i doubt a bottle heater would be worth the money if ur on a tight budget (aren't we all). http://www.ag.auburn.edu/users...neon/ has some info on putting together a make-shift kit. i like the way he used alcohol to provide a little extra fuel to run more nitrous.

I think for your application you just need the Zex dry kit.50 shot. This is a very simple kit to use and should not hurt your motor. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TUNING TUNING TUNING. your ignition must be perfect.

Use N02 at your own risk!
