Well, my wife needed a new car as her 1988 Mercury wasn't starting but about 1/3 of the time, so we traded it in on a G35 coupe.500 miles later, we decided it wasn't quick enough. Me tooling arround town in the 240SS at night with no other seats in it, she was often left to go home when we went racing. So we put on a little NOS 75 wet shot. With an MSD window switch, and a wide open throttle switch, the setup is perfectly safe.

She has one switch with a blue LED above it that connects to the remote bottle opener. A switch with a red LED that shows when the system is aremed, and an LED that is connected to the bottle warmer which turns on when the pressure in the bottle drops below a set psi rating.

All of the nitrous is plumbed into the bottom of the stock intake tubing, and is completely invisible to someone looking under the hood. The solonoids are tucked away neatly behind the passenger's side kick panel where they can't fall victim to anything unforseen such as water splashes or lines being tangled or yanked on.

She even put my work to the test the other day when her check engine light came on for an O2 sensor having failed. The O2 sensor had simply come unscrewed and fallen out, but Nissan looked over the entire car and read all of the ECU codes and never once found the nitrous.

She is surprising a lot of people with that little shot :)

it's on a WOT switch.and also on a RPM window switch so that she can't accidentally spray through a shift and hurt the tranny.

And yes, the car still has full warranty.

if Nissan sees the nitrous in any way shape or form your warranty is void on all parts of the car.

I used N.O.S. parts on this application, and an MSD window switch. Everything was installed in about 4 hours in my garage at the house. There is probably $800 in nitrous equipment in the car including the safety stuff (window switch, bottle heater, blow down tube, WOT switch, high flow valve)

The main thing is to take your time and do it right... That way when you need to undo it, it was never there.

It's always better to get things done professionally.Of course, nitrous is fairly simple, and if you follow the instructions, and make a few calls to their free support line, I'm sure you caould do it in your garage in an afternoon.

I was concerned about the power issue. Ive driven 2 G's & its hard to really get a full feel for the power that the car has.BTW... is it critical to follow break-in speeds on te Jap products???

A few issues regarding the G-35 coupe!!!I have viewed the 6 Speed transmissions in new model training several months ago, and the transmission is very beefy, first gear main and counter looks like a ring gear and pinion. On the reverse gears, instead of using the LOUD spur type gears, they switched to a Helical gear type which will cut most of the reverse noise to a minimum. They also improved the center support plate, which most people know will break when you do a bearing job on the older Z-cars. The clutch disc/plate and bearing is a different set up than Nissan/Infiniti has ever used before. I don’t feel this is going to be an issue of weakness by no means!!This is a very high tech car, and consumers need to be aware of certain things before attempting to achieve more horsepower and torque.(INCLUDING NITROUS)There are about 642 pages alone, in the ESM (Electronic Service Manual) pertaining to the engine control for the G-35 coupe, I could spend weeks discussing formulas, tables, break downs of items concerning engine control.I will discuss the Controlled Area Network (CAN) system on the G-35.CAN is an on-vehicle multiplex communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. Many electronic control units are equipped onto a vehicle, and each control unit shares information and links with other control units during operation (not independent). In CAN communication, control units are connected with two communication lines, CAN H (high) and CAN L (low) lines, allowing a high rate of information transmission with less wiring. In other words, each control unit transmits and receives data, but selectively reads REQUIRED data only.Data messages transmitted from any module on a CAN bus (transmission device) do not contain the address of either the transmitting module or any intended receiving module; instead, an identifier that is unique throughout the network labels the content of the message. All modules on the network receive the message and each performs an acceptance test on the identifier to determine if the message, and thus the content, is relevant to that particular module. This is the part of aftermarket chips and such might give some problems, if a receiving message is relevant, it will be processed; otherwise it WILL BE IGNORED!On the G35 , a list of the control units linked by the CAN system include:1. Electronic Control Module ( ECM)2. Automatic Transmission Contol Module ( TCM)3. Data link connector4. Body Control Module ( BCM )5. Steering angle sensor6. ABS actuator and control unit7. VDC/TCS/ABS control unit8. IPDM E/R ( Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room)

So you see there are many things that come into play when dealing with the G-35 sedan or the G-35 coupe, and that is just barely scratching the surface. Give the vehicle a few more months for more information regarding the vehicle options, it is still new to the auto market!

honestly, the car doesn't need the nitrous.it's fast enough all by itself :)

We're just not happy owning anything that's stock ;)

plug the hole in the intake if you ever had to? Did you tap into an existing hole?

sounds like a good set up and yes there are lots of places in the engine compartment to hide stuff even from someone who knows the engine.

the easiest way to plug the hole would be to use black RTV silicone with a piece of atpe on the inside of the tube, and then on the outside as well. when the silicone has dried completely (7-10 hours) peel the tape off and you will have a perfect plug that is smoothe on both sides :)

i have no plans to add nitrous but it is good to know someone who has played with fuel curves when I go to do mine in a year or so.

I am taking my G35 6MT to Mossy Nissan Performance this weekend. The guys there are very knowledgeable and just about as excited to work on my car as I am. It's very cool. I am going to hold off on most mods until there is more data available on the G35. Will start off on air filter mods (They recommend Wolf Technology over K&N and I am doing research on that now) and exhaust. They don't have a G35 but they have 2 Z's (one with stock exhaust and one with modified exhaust and they are going to let me test drive both to see difference in HP, look and noise).

I am a computer specialist so I must admit I am very excited about incorporating a ECU module/software at some point down the road. If anyone has good information on ECU's I'd appreciate it. Simply reading material at this point so I can ask many questions about it as I go along.

Thanks,

Todd aka Blackjack40

Pics coming soon.:ylsuper
