Hey guys I have a question about Nitrous Kit for My 1995 S14 (KA24DE), MyMotor is in good condition with about 85,000 miles. I am considering about putting Nitrous Kit (about 50~75 shot). I just want to hear some ideas. Currently I have Cold-air intake, headers(with EGR tube disconnected), Cat-back; on my KA and inside of the motor is stock... Also what does it mean by ("...Pull about 2 3 degrees out, run 1 step colder plugs..."- quote from <Brandon93240>) What does this mean? I just wanted to know if this is safe or not. I am not trying to spray it all the time (not spraying on daily driving) I am planning to Just use it at the track. I only go to the track maybe 2 times a month... What kind of Kit is the best to use? So this is my sistuation~ Please help me guys~ this is my first time using Nitrous Kit and I have little knowledge about it. Every little information will be helpful... Thanks! http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2547546

by 2-3 degrres i think they mean retard your timing by a few degrees as nitrous is far more combustable.

and run colder plugs. This helps reinforce the effect of retarded timing...

nitrous is not combustable.nitrogen is an inert gas, and oxygen is just oxygen.nitrous as a whole is an oxidizer. it helps the flame burn faster because it gives more/purer oxygen during the process.

im running a 75 shot on my 240. stock timing. header and 3 inch exhaust and intake. pulls real hard. suprise some sr20 240's. ive ran this setup a few weeks but had the 75 shot on my first car for over 40,000 miles of very abusive racing and its still around

IMHO and many others nitrous is just as harmful to an engine as boost

you will get some people that say running a 75 or 100 shot will blow the **** up....... ok so what about the people running 350whp.. like a 200 shot on stock internals and not blowing it up...... is boost some sort of godly thing that doesn't harm engines? I think not.......

with proper fuel/ignition tuning....... Nitrous is just as reliable as a boosted engine as far as damaging the engine

If you had it tuned good, I bet you could run 150 shot all the time.....

but u will need different injectors, pump, computer, plugs etc.... pretty much all the same **** u need for boost........

Your exactly right, a 150 shot isn't that big of a deal depending on the setup, I wouldn't try it with a single nozzle kit, u'll be sorry, but a direct port would work all day long, its more expensive intially but u have to pay to play. Also about the timing 2 degrees is plenty for a 75 shot with the generic pills that come with the kit, if u dyno it and want the real 75 3 degrees is a little safer on those really hot days, plus 1 degree base timing isn't a real big deal in the overall picture if its on a street car. I still stick by Nitrous Express their components are hands down far superior than anyone else's mainstream kits. With the mods u have I'd go with the 75 shot and it'll pull like a raped ape all day long. Also to the op what is the climate like where u live?

I'm sure the weather there is great, ur car would probably ping its balls off here, but atleast we do have 93 oct. It is recommended to pull a few degrees, on a really hot day it only takes a pull to third gear to go kapluue. No two cars run alike and its easier to pull 2-3 degrees than to pull ur engine.
