...difference in what? you do realize don't you that air is already 78% nitrogen. Money making scam in my book. Any difference you will see in whatever difference you are looking for is likely imperceptible.Scuba Steve wrote:I finally put nitrogen in my tires today, I'll have to see if it really makes a difference. www.nitrogeneration.com
hmm i dont know it costs 50 cents to fill air in my tires in my local gas station.Shad0wXCalibur wrote:$30-60 to fill my tires with nitrogen or use the air compressor in my garage? Hmm...
I know the supposed benefits on nitrogen but they don't outweigh the price...
let's see. 30 divided by 0.50 is 60. If it costs $30 to fill your tires with N2, then you can do it 60 times at your gas station.Vahagn23 wrote:

lol I only filled it once last year.fjwagner wrote:

only once all year? should be checking your air pressure at least once a month if not more.Vahagn23 wrote:lol I only filled it once last year.
never said he checked it once, he said he only put air in once.fjwagner wrote:

Err... Scuba Steve never said he only fill or check tires once a year.SuperTurbo wrote:my god.... only check or pump your tire once a yr??
Do you know how much water is included when you use those air pump from the gas station??
Steve, for sure you will feel it once you do some crazy driving, but still... make sure you check your tire pressure once a month. Using Nitrogen doesn't mean they will not run away
I understand the theory behind it, but what I mean is.... how can you 100% sure that the tire & rims are 100% tight sealed?Red Devil wrote:Nitrogen is mainly used to prevent pressure changes due to temperature variance or temperature spikes. NO NO NO NO NOXterraVersa wrote:Why check tire preasure? That is what these wounderful TPMS's are for.
Sounds good.... so.... what are you trying to tell us first??fjwagner wrote:I will repeat. Air is 78% nitrogen!!!!
Nitrogen use in aircraft tires is done because nitrogen contains no moisture which over time can corrode wheels. It has nothing to do with temp and tires poppingRed Devil wrote:Nitrogen is mainly used to prevent pressure changes due to temperature variance or temperature spikes. yes, paying big bucks for N2 is likely a waste of money. If you get it free, what the heck.SuperTurbo wrote:

Don't waste money on filling 100% Nitrogen into tires? or....
That is not unusual for air either which by the way is 78% N2, but I think I have said that already.iluvmyVersa08 wrote:My 2008 Versa (which I purchsed 5 months ago new) came with its tires filled with nitrogen. I have gone in for one oil change so far and Nissan checks everything and so far the tires are great. Even took a 3000 km roadtrip a few weeks ago and never once had to fill the tires. Apparently nitrogen tires do not need to be filled as often as air filled tires. I don't know how much it costs to fill them, but if its better for my car I dont mind spending the money. I get great gas mileage which is always directly related to having properly inflated tires. Did anyone else's Versa actually come with nitrogen filled tires straight from the manufacturer? Cuz mine actually has stickers saying that my vehicle runs on nitrogen. And the air valve caps are chrome with a green N on it (which means they are filled with nitrogen).
we have been filling offroad tires with CO2 for years. So much faster to air up with a 10lb bottle of CO2 than using a pump after a trail run.msb0b wrote:On other note, Formula 1 teams started filling their tires with CO2 last year. Get ready for another paradigm shift.
