Hey guys I'm running an rb20 in my s13 and I'm about to order nistune for it. However when I wired my swap I didn't wire the consult port. My question is can I either a) hardwire the wires to pins on the ecu or b) run a type 1 board instead of the type 2 since it is made for the older rb20 that never had a consult port. Just curious what my options are. How many wires from the nistune cable go to the consult port? In the pics I've seen it looks like 3 or so. Maybe hard wiring the plug would be my best bet?

its very easy to do there is a write up with pics on here for the rb20 just search(Also is in the nistune install instructions)... the way i did it was 3 wires TX-pin 21...RX-pin 31...CLK-pin 32... to the ECU for the communication aspect and key'd power and ground to behind the radio incase of a short it wont touch any of the ECU wiring and a factory fuse will blow... Sooo all in all take your pick on the way you want to do it but solder ALL connections

I'd get a consult plug and just wire it in, that's what I did on the Z. You could just hardwire but I use my cable on multiple cars so I'm not sure if thats important to you.

I do have the stock plug from a skyline. Do you wire it right into the wiring on the ecu itself?  I'm just not entirely sure what you mean by Tx pin 21 rx pin 31
