well i have a ca18det running 10psi(sr turbo), 444cc injectors, fmic, blowtru maf(stock), and recurc BOV
and am running rich now  (like 10/12:1) and my idle is now s*** :gotme

ive deducted that it is due to the ecu not being tuned for it

so here is my question should i go with the nistune ecu with licensing and what not and try tuning my self
or should i get a jim wolf ecu and plug it in and go vroom

Option 3 would be to just buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn the pressure down a bit.

If you plan on making any changes in the car in the future, I'd say go with the NISTUNE. If not, Jim Wolf should be fine. You still might want that adjustable fuel pressure regulator to scale everything accordingly though. There's no guarantee the JW tune will be perfect out of the box.

JW is ok if you don't know how to tune, don't mind waiting for the ecu being mailed back and forth and don't have a tune shop near by.
But if you have the means get your car tuned locally, I would go with Nistune.

thnaks guys

i do plan on getting an FPR soon and i choose to just go with the JW tune due to the fact they are the closest to me due to the fact the closest place that could do nistune for me is like an hour+ for me to get to and i dont want to waste alot of gas

also i dont know how to tune yet so im going to wait till i get my next motor running to learn that (KA24DET with the BC stroker kit and nar-nar cams cause i feel it will be brutal for that understated motor!!!!!!)

 ok so i went and got the JW tune and now the idle is sitting at 1500
ive checked all the vacuum lines and cleaned the idle air control valve(it was f@** dirty) and even tested it with a know good one(the old one idled at 8-9 pre-tune)
ive called and talked to them to see if maybe its the way they tuned it but they say it should still idle at stock levels

also i did just replace the timing belt and tenchener cause it was one its way and just started slapping after the tune

anything helps guys
and thanks for helping my CA noobness

Does it fluctuate at all or does it stay at 1500 rpms?

it doesn't fluctuate much once warm but does when cold

im going to block the cold start once warm tomorrow after work just in case thats the problem(called JW and asked if they have heard of it happening to any similar CA tunes, they said to check that)

i really hope its that simple
cause i hate driving my truck daily
