NISTECH, I am about to purchase a 2003 pathfinder from a local dealer. The SES light is on right now and they have agreed to fix the issue. I don't know the original codes, but it was definitely in fail safe mode. The mechanic replaced both Bank1 and Bank2 Intake Valve Timing solenoids (one box that they left in the vehicle is labeled 23796-4WOOA). I picked it up and it had no SES light. 1/4 mile down the road and it went into fail safe mode again but triggered no SES light. Went back to the dealer and after a couple of drives, the SES was triggered again. This time I got the codes. P0011 and P0021 Camshaft Position Sensor/ Actuator A/ Bank 1 and Camshaft Position Sensor/ Actuator A/ Bank2, respectively. I work with solenoids and sensors at my job so this made sense to me that maybe now the sensors are bad. Had the dealer order the sensors and I installed them. I also checked the harnesses and they seem to be in good condition. Drove it to have the codes erased. Drove good and not in fail safe mode for about 1-2 hours. Turned it off and let it set about 6-7 times during that time. Woke up the next morning and drove 50ft, back in fail safe. No SES. After a couple of starts, SES back on with same P0011 and P0021 codes!!!!! What now?????? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
P.S. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I would like any help that can be offered by anyone. Just want the issue resolved before I purchase. Thanks.
