I would recommend performing a leak down test, this will help pinpoint the problem. If you hear air lcoming out of the intake; its your intake valves, if its coming out your exhaust; its your exhaust valves, dip stick tube; then its your rings, etc...

I don't think leaking valve guides could coat the thing like that. Have you at least pulled the Valve cover? it has to have made it past the plugs to get to that so Its gotta be something to do with the the spark plugs/their threads/the seal around them for the valve cover Id think....

I just discover the same problem on my coupe the other day.....the valve cover was not tight enough which made the oil get into the spark plug area thru the middle gasket in the cover....check your valve cover gasket and torque...specially the bolts in the middle of the cover....

No, all I had to do was torque the valve cover a bit more....find a way to clean the spark plughs and wires without taking the spark plugs out. If you do, all the oil sitting there will drain into your cylinders and your car will smoke for a little bit, no major damage though....It should be a quick check, on how tight the valve cover is. I left mine kind of loose because even if you torque the !@#! covers by the specs, the threads tend to get damage anyhow.....
