hey its mean again! =). im doing the 5 speed swap from a 95 240sx heres the question:i need help with the wiring. i read stuff online but i need more detail for the speed senor, 5th gear sensor, neautral sensor, reverse sensor. on the transmission they have those clips(clips for the wires) that just clip to the engine wires but unfortunately i don't have an 5 speed wiring harness. so does that mean i have to cut those clips on the transmission and wire it the mickey mouse way? that means when i change clutch its gonna mean trouble =(. is there any way i dont have to cut those clips on the transmission to save me the trouble of taking the transmission out when it comes to replacing the clutch. thanks.

Well first let me point out I do not alter the cars from stock. I am not sure what you are looking at online for this swap. But here is my suggestion if you know what to wire up the switchs to. Go to a pick and pull and try to find a 240 that still has the manual harness. If that is not available you can start cutting connectors that look close to what you need along with a matching one that will plug into it. cut and solider it to the wires on the trans so they are disconnectable when you do have to do a clutch. then get some bulk wire and solider the opposing connector to it and run it to your engine bay for wiring.

also if you guys can answer this question also: i can avoid using a wiring hardness if i find a set or two of Wiring Harness Connectors that can be found at junk yards. but i wanna know if i can grab any connector off any car or does it have to be off a 240sx ka24de transmission. connectors i mean both parts of a connecter (both so that they can actually fit with one another. i dont know the word for it). also i want to know if s13 and s14 wiring harness are the same.thanks,

Steve

if your gonna cut wires and soilder in pairs of mating connectors, you could take the connectors off a yugo if you wanted to. The only reason you would be after your model vehile is to try and match an existing connector on your car.
