My seat rails are an ongoing issue, the corporate techs told the dealer not to replace them for the third time, the area rep told them to. My problem is that they are trying to fix the problem with the same broken parts like the last 2 times. It is a safety issue, the seat shifts forward and backward on a sudden stop. now the switch assembly needs to be replaced, but can not be done due to the seat rails. They are dragging their feet, and sold me a $39000 piece of junk. Also when bought the car, center console opped lose, they never put bolts in it, got into an 08 rental altima and went around the corner and wow, same proplem, console popped lose. It is the quality of product they put out now, even my 05 Titan had a bunch of issues. Told the area rep, makes me not want to buy another Nissan, he responded by telling me "well then why should we help you on this" nice company.

I worked for a Nissan dealership and they have no focus on helping you if you car breaks down. Our main focus was selling the car and selling the service department. Butttt once you purchase that car and drive it off they will do as little as possible to help you fix any issues. Trust me, i worked for the dealership and still have to fight with them to get things done.

If Nissan techline has said to not replace something, that means that it is a known issue and they are working on a repair for it. There is no sense in Nissan repeatedly putting parts on your car that they already know is not going to fix it. So they cease repairs until an updated part is released. That's not a lack of customer care, that is forward thinking on their part. Engineering a new part is not an overnight process. They cannot just go fab up something from scratch and send it to a dealer and say "try this".

As much as everybody likes to blame the dealership, maybe you need to be let in on a little something. Every warranty repair has to be approved by the warranty clerk, or else the dealership eats the cost of the repair. There is a process that must be followed with approval codes given by Nissan in advance of repair so that the dealership is not on the hook for these repairs, which certainly in our current economic situation, everybody can understand. The more expensive the part, the more likely more documentation is going to be needed to get it approved. It's only covered under the warranty when Nissan says it is.

I feel your pain as I had several problems with my car as well.I have to say though the support you get depends on the dealership. The first one I went to fought me on replacing a wiper blade! The car had like 100 miles on it and they wanted to charge me for a blade that was not clearing the window. Give me a break..

The one I go to now has done a ton of stuff extra-well above and beyond. I was shocked that they replaced all my pads and calipers due to a noise. They also replaced my exhaust Y pipe as I heard a minor rattle. Then they went and did a "new car detail" on my car (have 38k now) during my last service visit. I actually walked past my car didn't even reconize it at first.

They are so good I am thinking about a 370z-now. If I could just justify that to my wife..hmmm

mcheddadi,

What issue did you have with your roof? Is this a common issue? Im looking into an 09 coupe/sedan. Leaning towards the coupe though.

The people I dealt with at the dealership I use to go to were nothing but great with me. Random free oil changes and extras here and there.

One time while taking my car in for inspection I accidently left my 45 glock and 4 ounces of coke under my seat, I KNOW they saw it when putting on their temp seat cover as it was sticking out. But did they say anything or report me? no. Did they take any for themselves? No...not that I noticed and I got a good eye.

Well, I think the gun may have been a good deterrent. Did you start getting freebies after you left it under the car seat?

Ha I was just joking about the second part, thats not how I do. Id never even let a weed seed near the inside of my car, let alone worse drugs. When it was dealing time I shoe leather expressed that s*** Those days are loooooooooooooooooong behind though.

Although I do want to get a consealed weapons permit so I can keep a hand gun in the car, I just like target shooting and whatnot.

The Seat rail issue......This seems to be something I think Nissan is trying to ignore/doesn't want to issue a recall on.....I read on the other Nissan forum that there are like 500 + people with similar or the same problem. They have it up as a poll with like 500+ people saying they have seat rail issues as well.....

I have the same problem with my driver side seat rails.....You can feel the seat move from side to side. So they replaced the rails and still does the same thing. I had them take a second look and this time they said they were gonna try something so they put some zip ties around the seat bucket or something like that it fixed the side to side problem but now created a new problem when sliding the seat forward or backward it now hesitates/pauses at 2 points (I assume where the zip ties are) when adjusting it. So my next oil change I will be once again mentioning it to them again......

My local dealer is the biggest bunch of weasels. They tried to tell me that a part they installed (after damaging my first one) was not installed properly by the people who put my stereo in......I told them UH you guys put that part it.....and they were like no it had to be the stereo shop....the funny thing was is that the stereo was done long before they put this part in (I even showed them the receipt to prove it) then they were just left there looking stupid and I was like so your gonna fix this right, and then they were like yes, but I never got an apology even when they were wrong! WORST CUST. SERVICE I've ever experienced at a dealership.

They will do anything to get out of fixing a warrantied item! JUST RIDICULOUS!

I must say I am wishing I bought a Toyota tundra instead. Always had excellent service with my other toyota's at the dealership. Nissan's service dept and there cust service is a JOKE!

change dealership man, don't support fail dealers, and send complains to nissan HQ, they will make sure you get some form of compensation for your trouble with that lame dealership
