Replaced my daughter's ATF in her 2000 G20 with Dexron III. Owner's manual calls for Nissanmatic D ATF. Are the 2 compatible?

I am thinking No.I am only 90% sure though.

I know you can replenish a Nissanmatic D fill with some dexron III and I am sure they are not all <that> different but I do believe they spec out different and are not interchangeble.

Fred...:)

If anything the differences are minor compared to Toyota T4.

At the worst case you would need some Lubeguard Black additive to simulate the exact slip/lockup characteristics of Nissan D.

Try the Dex lll alone first.

In 2002 [5 speed AT] uses a very special fluid that so far we don't know how to copy just like Toyota T4.
