Lets start a Speeding stories thread, just for Z's.

At least one Z has to be in it, as Victor or vanquished.

I'll share one from today in my 04 350.

I was coming from Blue Grass Station Lexington on an ultra smooth and straight I-64 west.

I am going a leisurely 75 mph as in my rear view mirror a Fly yellow late model mustang approaches quickly at what I estimate 90 mph.

He pulls up on my left and speeds up some as he passes me I downshift, to 4th and step on it, and match his speed almost instalntly.

Then its on and we both punch it and I pull on him, as we reach approx 125 + mph I ease off, but he is only a little bit behind me and we seperate with a friendly wave down a fork on seperate way.

Well having my car a little over 4 years...and going from stock to now....I have a ton of stories

I'll share a good one though.....my TT Z32 vs. modded 350Z

-Well let me preface this story with.....A couple years ago, when the 350Z first came out, there was this local yahoo who bought one and put everything stillen made on it and at the time my car was way much more stockish than now. Like a couple hundred horsepower more stock.

Now when I stumbled upon this car I was getting off the highway and hadn't seen it before and didn't know the details on it. I just saw a 350 up ahead getting off the exit ramp with what looked like a mild kit and some big wheels. So as I'm getting up to the car off the highway I hear exhaust and that its definately not stock. I'm all jazzed about seeing a nice Z so I pull up next to him to give him the nod and props on his car (I'm in my Z mind you). Well when I pull up next to him I give him the nod and say "nice Z" and the d!ck shakes his head and cuts in front of me in traffic. So me, being pissed that he's got no respect for other Z's, and thinks he's cool cause he's got a modded 350, I decide to show this dude that the 350 isn't the fastest Z made by nissan (sorry Z33 guys, but the TT Z32 was faster) So I get up next to him again on this 4 lane road and he's game to play with this big smirk on his face. We went from a roll at like 35-40 to nearly 90 if I recall correctly. Needless to say I put an amtrack train on him in a big hurry (and this was like 200hp ago ) Was nice to whoop up on an ignorant Z owner.

On a side note...the dude sold the car after like 8 months and bought a TT supra and since has some how managed to blow up the bottom end but his pocket book doesn't stop opening. Some people....sheesh.

being a stock 280ZX I don't have much power compared to the TT 32sbut about a week after I got my car on the road I was rollin down 265 S at about 2:30 in the mornin, I catch headlights in my mirror and within a few seconds this riced eclipse is on my bumper he flashes his lights at me and flys by, I downshift and floor it and pull back beside him now doing 110 we both slowed down to 55ish and he hit the 3 horn signal. I forgot to take it back out of 4th so he put bout 2 cars on me we hit bout 122 and all the sudden I hear what sounds to be the speed chip kickin in on the eclipse and I pull ahead, I continue to floor it and soon had bout 8 cars on him glanced at my speedo and it had stoped registering and sitting on zero.

since then the speedo still hasn't moved (along with the odometer) infact yesterday I installed another speedo and same story, musta killed the cable.

My only good story is that the end of the 2003 drag season, I went to the drag strip and ran a 16.2 @ 81 MPH at 220,000 miles. Which is faster than my friends MY98 2.5RS . AND the exact time it ran in 1980

well, what can i say ive got more then my share of stories to around but ill keep it to only a couple. let me first start out by throwing out my best 1/4 time i ran a 14.08@104mph in my 1990 non turbo 300zx. well, probably one of the most memorable races i took part in was a 133 mile long run, buy in was $20 and only 5 cars showed up. o basically what we were doing wasnt even worth the money needless to say i made the 133 miles in 61 minutes i came in 2nd somehow mainly cause i didnt like taking the 3rd lane at well over a 100. then the next memorable race was the night my car blew its 2nd motor. i was driving down the interestate with some friends and ruufly a 98 SS camaro pulled up next to me and i couldnt just let him go. so i sat next to him waiting for him to take the punch he finally did while we were both going about 60mph so he had about half a car on me at the beggining when all was said and done i had caught up to him but i promptly backed off when i started hearing a thumping noise from the bottom end of my motor.

Ok here is one froml ast weekend:

Raced a newer GTO ( the one with the 400 hp LS series motor as found in recent Corvettes) from 85-135 mph ( his strong suit being top end).

Walked him barely, but did walk him.(Car and Mods in my Sig)

i live in phoenix arizona and i have a 92 nissan z32 n/a and have 250 hp to the rear wheels, with mods, but to say that i was crusin about a month ago down the 101 going south from hayden heading towards the 60 and its abot a 30mile strip of feeway. but anyways i had this guy in a new tiburon think he's cool and cruise up to me and were both doing a 100 in the rain and there's a **** load of traffic and pass me so i turned on my fogs and sped up and passed his gay *** at 110 and sped away and minless to say that i was ****ing around and few seconds later i pulled away with him no where in site and i looked at my tach and read 140+ so far thats the fastest ive gotten her and she still had plenty to give imagine this 5th gear at 5.5k my redline is now 7.8k. I show up camaros and mustangs all the time and needless to say the piece of **** subarus.

Last week I was back in kentucky and pullling into an unnamed largish town ,after a 9 hour drive in the middle of the night.

I see a Mistu 300GT VR4.Pull up next to him, he doesnt wanna but then I do a ricer fly-by and he bites.

honk off at 45 mph I am in 2nd, easily walk him.Next honk off at 80 mph ( his choice) I shut it down at 120 mph as he is badly behind and getting more so

Another honk off this one at 60 mph ( his choice) I am in third caught a bit short but still pull away and shut it down at 110 mph.

He raises his trigger finger as I wave off, asking for one more time, ok

So another honkoff at 45 mph I am a gear shorter than I meant to but still win.

Last week (friday or saturday?) I had a run in with a blue SRT-4 on route 40 late at night. It was midnightish and i passed him as he was getting onto the highway, I noticed him but I didnt do anything to incourange him to race me, by the time he got next to me (i was cruising at a moddest 60mph) he did the whole BOV rev and we did a nice little rolling start, I gave him a little head start and still passed him within a second. Im sure it was near stock, but it was fun watching him keep trying. I did all this with a bad clutch too! They're cool little cars even though most people dont like them.

Good kill. Just watch out for the 3Kgt's in cleveland if you're up here. There are a handful putting out over 400whp. Always fun to play with

Was driving and saw nice z32.White with some sweet rims.Diced in and out of traffic to catch up to him.Got behind him at the light and next to him was a cobra stang that was revving it up.Light turned green, Z was gone and cobra was humilated.
