I've been talking to my friend that owns a Hyundai and he firmly believes they are superior in every way to both Nissan and Honda. Here's what he recently told me...

Quote »oh noI don't think sospecially not HondaNissan has GT-rI will give you thatHonda doesn't have anything like thatHyundai has RWD platformit has v8, it has dual turbo, it has tranmission, it has designersHyundai is bigger than both Honda or Nissanmore people buy Hyundai than Honda or Nissanit's a fact
I think your friend has been hittin the crack pipe a little too hard! I just spent about a month online doing research on cars before I purchased my brand-spankin new Nissan Altima Coupe SE! I looked at Honda, Toyota, Audi, Ford, GMC, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Subaru and Nissan. I seriously considered Hyundai's new 2010 Genesis Coupe, which a very sweet ride. HOWEVER.......its still a HYUNDAI! Hello! Hyundai is getting better....their sedan was rated #1.......but lets not get crazy.....Hyundai is not beating out Honda, Toyota, Subaru or Nissan!

And in the end, picking the Coupe over the Genesis ensures I get year-round style and comfort....

A transmission? You're friend's quote makes no sense. Hyundai went to ZF for the genesis transmission - teh company that makes the MB transmission.

Nissan has probably one of the best RWD platforms in the industry...used daily on the Z, and all of Infiniti's lineup...

Nothing about what your friend made sense.

2008 auto sales:

Nissan - 951,350Honda - 1,428,765Hyundai - 401,742

People are buying more Hyundai's???? Hyundai even was at a 14% decline...

considering you have a 2.5 CVT I perfectly understand your point man. i'd do the same in your case.

its true, hyundai developped a new 6sped transmission thats way more efficient than whats on the market right now. http://green.autoblog.com/2008...oblog

about the RWD platform. nissan doesn't have a CHEAP new rwd one and thats a real shame... hyundai has one and a great one at that. its the only great one appart from the departed s2000 and the low powered miata.

Also about the v8, the new TAU v8 hyundai developped also is AWESOME. plus its in ward's 10 best engine of 2009.

"The 4.6 liter Tau V8 offered in the Hyundai Genesis Sedan normally cranks out 380 HP, but A new prototype engine gets a screw-type roots supercharger with a novel clutched pulley, a water-to-air intercooler, and cylinder deactivation. This results in 460 HP and 435 lb-ft of torque while returning 8% better fuel economy."

they are raising the bar everyday and the other JDM companies won't be able to ignore it much longer.

Hyundai isn't better than the rest but if the rest doesn't take notice they will be left behind.

you should go to any hyundai dealership in your area and check out their amazing mark-up! its borderline abusive, i understand they have a car thats getting attention but give me a break. i went to the hyundai dealer to check it out just today, and they wanted to tell me 495 +tax a month on a 2.0 track with 2k down for 3 years with great credit is the best deal im gonna get.

The outside looks great but the interior looks real cheap.

If my ball park is right, I would say 16000 before taxes, so 21-22k after lice and reg w/ tax?

APR / finance charges would affect that too, so more.

306hp/266lbft for the v6 210/223 for the I4, the lightest curb weight the I4 achieves is 3294, and the heaviest the v6 could be is 3397, im no engineer but 100lbs lighter shouldnt make any substantial difference when theres a 94hp diff

My friend just bought the G8 and he just posted this in his facebook;

Quote »I am getting the Cold Air Intake and the Performance Exhaust within next 2 weeks. They are suppose to increase the performance and the gas mileage. The hp will increase anywhere between 30 to 50 horsepower after the upgrade.
50 hp off Intake+Exhaust?

He said he's getting this;

http://marylandspeed.com/varar....html

I told him to dyno the car before and after and post numbers.

And now he's talking crap about FWD and CVT, saying 3.5L is already too much power and there is no point in getting an intake because the car won't be able to handle it.

Edit: Yeah, sorry, going off topic, he just went from the Hyundai to a G8, lol. Here's what he got; http://ideablitz.googlepages.com/mypontiacg8
