Thanks for all the useful input everybody. I have decided on the Quaife despite it's high price due to the fact that it won't wear out like a clutch or viscous LSD and that it's a 2-way.

Does anyone know of anywhere we can find deals on the Quaife besides our NICO sponsors?

Hey, D-UNIT, where in the heck did you find a qualife for $1120? the list price for the R200 was, like, over $1400.

And Darius, the qualife is NOT 2-way. I'm not sure how you would consider a qualife, but I think it would be considered a 1-way

:rolleyes Sorry I was thinking and typing two different things at once with the 1 and 1.5 or 2-way. (Quaife vs KAAZ)

I've seen the Quaife units (R200) at different internet sites for less than the $1500 retail price, but I was looking for something less than $1000.

karay240-I'm leaning towards a helical LSD mainly because I don't want to replace the clutch-type LSD that may eventually wear out.

And I didn't see a warranty on the KAAZusa website, soooo...

I don't know were I saw that. It was like a year ago. I remembered the price because it was either a Quaife diff for $1120 or a R200v w/ housing for $200. You pretty much know what I went with. LOL!!

Are you talking about a stock 350Z diff? 'Cause those are the VLSD. As far as I know, I don't think any Japanese car came stock w/ clutch type. (definately not in the states, anyway)I have seen several cars with helical. I think the low maintenance factor is the reason they are used, but the cost of them are not cheap. That's why most manufacturers stick w/ the VLSD.

yes they are VLSD's in them... The new Nismo unit is still clutch type. It is however supposed to be the smoothest clutch type lsd out there and last a very long time. I do not remember exactly waht it was that advanced them so much.... something about the clutch surface area and operation-making it smooth for a clutch type.

Nismo claims the improvement came from having 20 disks opposed to 16 (I think) disks that everyone else has. . . The surface area of the disks are also 55% larger if I remember correctly. The oil channels are larger, or something like that (although this part may be the new cusco lsds. . . )The first two, at least, I'm sure about being the Nismo GT lsd. All I know is that everything I've heared is positive about this lsd. Plus, if you get the GT Pro (I think that's what it's called), the initial torque is adjustable.
