how about a VH45?Bigboss21 wrote: I have been thinking about an N/A VK45DE in my G35. but i have no idea where to get half of the parts i need, like wiring harness's, headers, exhaust, the intake, the camshafts (if there are any) anyone know where i go to find some places that would help me. A website, or shop or anything like that.
Thanks
I love those vids man, I watched them on youtube a little while ago!! !450Z wrote:If this is appropriate, I also have some vids of an VH45DE running, in this case a 1972 Datsun 240Z.Check out:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIbK1AiQ ... oNzb-PQI1k
The VH45 seems like a downgrade though, i want an all motor N/A car. and it would seem i would be starting off lower then with the original VQ35. I figured at least with the VK45 i would automatically have 330 hp something, then i could further improve on that. But i do understand that the VH is cheaper, and a stronger engine.elwesso wrote:

not at all, remember the VH with a chip alone is about the same HP as the VK45. IMO, comparing a VH with a chip to a VK stock is fair due to the state of tune. The computers that control the VK are more advanced, but ironically much less versatile. Easy to reprogram VH45 ECU, not so much to reprogram a VK45 ECU. Besides, all the ECU upgrades on VK45s give like 10HP MAX, whereas the VH ECU gives about 30.Bigboss21 wrote:

Well ok then VH45 it is. so i have heard in a bunch of thread's that the 94 was the best model to get it from. But i do hate that spider looking intake manifold, but Nissan knows what its doing so i wont touch it. I have been thinking raising the compression to 11.0:1 maybe, upgrading the ECU, the whole intake, headers, custom exhaust stuff. I guess there's nothing i can do about the camshafts. But still i would like to keep this car practical, i wouldn't want to have the gas mileage of a hummer. im looking for for at least 400-450 range, even thought that might be killing it expecting all that from a N/A platform. What do you guys think?elwesso wrote:

The VH has a superior intake design as well. No one has compared a VK and VH top end, but I think the VH would still be a better place to start.
You think my goals for my car are reasonable? I just hope it still runs on pump gas, dont know how i would be able to control that with out cams.450Z wrote:That what I'm shooting for. There are a few guys in AU/NZ that are making cams for this engine.
I don't know about PTV clearance, but the stock valve springs won't even get near .500" lift..Mettler wrote:I'm gonna see whether 1/2" lift is possible on the stock valvetrain parts, and whether or not I'll discover interference of some sort.
