I own a Tiida here in China (fearsome 1.6l engine!) and wanted to compare some of the less talked-about options and whether they are available in the US...

Here, the mid-level Tiida has standard:

- faux leather interior (tan or charcoal)- sliding and reclining rear seat- intelligent key- ABS/EBD/BA- sunroof- fog lights

Now to the accessories:

- LED-lit license plate frames- aluminum entry plates with blue LED "TIIDA" inlay- external mirror turning lights- HUD for speed indication- rear/front parking sensors with display integrated into rear-view mirror- aluminum trim strips- car-color bumper/door protectors

These are all original Nissan accessories, I was just wondering if they are global or local.

Any word on new accessories? I like the license plate frame available for every other Nissan car but the Versa. I asked the guy at the dealer if a Versa one was coming and he didn't know.

I also noticed that the dealer i was at had no literature out on the Versa itself (although some of the reps had brochures) and there was no accessories brochure like for other cars. Is it just not out yet, or are they not doing much with accessories on the Versa?

Thanks!

I would guess that some of that stuff will make it back to the US, they have a whole (China) catalogue here and there seems to be more stuff from Taiwan Nissan available as well.

I'll see if I can scan in the local catalogue on of these days...

Love the car, though it set me back $20k...and that is for a "Made in China" car.

The top model comes with navigation, rear view camera, auto AC and some other stuff..though the wait can be 4 weeks.

On the bright side, if I leave here I can probably sell the car and still buy a brand-new one back in the States...

You basically have to buy a fully loaded Versa here to get the sunroof. ABS is available on either trim, but if you get it on the SL, you either can't get any other packages, or have to get ALL available packages.

No leather. No sliding and reclining rear seats. Intelligent key requires a package on the top-level model. We get Bluetooth with the intelligent key, don't know if you get that over there or not.

A lot of the things you talk about like HUD, parking systems, and navigation aren't available on the Versa over here. The TIIDA in Asia is marketed as a near-luxury car, and gets all the fun toys. Over here, it's an economy car, so some toys aren't available, and the rest are only on fully loaded models.

I don't have Versa, but I do like it. I got its 2007 Versa brochure from a Nissan dealer I pass everyday. I'm not sure if this is the brochure's part number: 070022-12/06-250M-AL. It's on the last page on the bottom.

It is just like all other car's brochure which includes basic/standard, package and options, bunch of pictures inside and outside, color selections...

We don't get Bluetooth over here, neither do we get Cruise Control or CVT.

Funny enough, car-driving Chinese consider this car a "girl's car" or an economy vehicle. 3 years ago we were just running out of parking space for electric bikes, now the cars are already piling up at our factory...crazy country.

The Honda Fit is similarly priced to the US but the Tiida seems out of whack...considering the smaller engine.

But we do get our rewards of speeding with relative impunity and decent gas prices...

Now I got to stick some 18" wheels on my puppy...

Shame about the accessories not being made avaialbel in the US.

They are relatively inexpensive over here. The whole pimp-up package ran me 800 USD for:

- rain guards- LED door steps- HUD (I changed it for 4 floor mats)- car alarm- mud guards- bumper/door protectors- rear roof wing- ext. mirror turning lights- LED license plate frame- parking sensor with hidden display inside the rear view mirror

All of that plus the dealer asked me to come in the next two 1000 km to make sure I am a happy customer.

In Japan, the Tiida is considered an economy car also. Nissan is trying to push it as a near-luxury, but that strategy is not working. When the Japanese driving public looks at the Tiida as a luxury or near-luxury car, it falls short. If they are told that this is an econobox, then they see a pretty nice one. I think that Nissan's touting the Tiida as a luxurious car has actually backfired, at least in Japan (sales figures there have dropped to nearly half of what they used to be).
