I've never dealt with this before, but maybe this will help?

i dont understand the equation! t = t1+ (C1– C2)
c2 is the standard valve clearance! but the standard valve clearance is between 0.29 - 0.37 mm so what number do i put in the equation for c2

t = Valve lifter thickness to be replaced
t1 = Removed valve lifter thickness
C1 = Measured valve clearance
C2 = Standard valve clearance:
standard valve clearance
Exhaust : 0.29 - 0.37 mm (0.011 - 0.015 in)*

Do you already have the parts? I've always just put all the valves/lifters/ buckets in and measured the valve clearance, then swapped around as necessary. It sounds like with the replacement valve, you'll have to go with a shorter lifter.

So let's say you put the new valve in with the old lifter, and you get a clearance of .1mm. You know .33mm is nominal clearance for the exhaust (the average of .29 and .37), and you know the thickness of your old lifter (say it's 3.4mm). To get the requisite .33mm, you'll need a lifter that is .23mm smaller than your old one. Thus, your new lifter to order would be 3.17mm. Makes sense?
