I was thinking about getting an older nissan truck and putting sr20det in it. I wanted to get a gti-r pulsar front clip with awd. I couldn't find any truck with awd and the motor transverly mounted like in the pulsar. I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like, or know anywhere I can get information on a swap like this. Thanks

I have seen quite a few SR20 swaps in nissan trucks, makes for a wicked ride. The only way I can see making an AWD SR20 nissan pickup truck, is to get a frontier KA AWD transmission (if there is one :pface ) and put the KA AWD gearcase on the SR20 bellhousing.

And Welcome to NICO :thumbup

i would like to see this hardbody sr20 :)

there is a possibility of converting the car to awd.. i mean, the shop i worked at turned a vw into awd using the synchro awd system from an audi. im not sure if it worked cause it was the same platform, but they said they could do it on any vw if they had to.

I have found a few awd trucks, but i dont know how much I trust the trans and other parts to hold up to hard driving and high power levels. Thats why I wanted to use the center diff off of a gti-r pulsar, but I dont think it will work. I think if I can find a pickup for something near the price of a 240sx I will try to do it

Does the SR bellhousing have the same bolt pattern as the KA when it bolts the trans. or will I need an adapter plate?Any info that could help will help. Thanks

Sorry to look like a complete idiot (read: n00b), but I've just recently graduated (or been demoted) from my former 92 B13 to a 97 Hardbody, auto w/KA24E. I know that the SR20DET swap is a good option, but has anyone seen this done with the auto transmission? Gotta keep it automatic for personal reasons, although 5 speed would be fun. I have a lot of inquiries, but I'll settle for someone to point me in the direction of some answers. Thanks.

You'll have to get an auto SR20 clip if you want to do the swap and maintain an automatic transmission.

The SR20 and KA bellhousings are different, so you won't be able to bolt your auto transmission up to the SR.
