At the U.K.'s midsummer speedfest - the aptly named Goodwood Festival of Speed - Nissan is showing up with power to spare.

The supercharged 350Z GT-S concept goes from the standard 296 hp to an impressive 380 hp, and gets an uprated suspension and brakes to go with the extra power.

Nissan promises a limited production run of the GT-S if the car is well-received.

The GT-S will be on display at Goodwood and later in July at the British Motor Show.

There doesn't seem to be information anywhere on the net about this.Is it completely a factory mod, no aftermarket?

I had heard about the possibility of a boosted Z being offered. At one point, it made sense. When the GT-R was thought to be badged an Infiniti, it would give Infiniti a boosted AWD coupe. The next step would be to boost a Z. They would not necessarily be "comparible" as the Z would still have the VQ35 and RWD while the GT-R would be the 3.7L and AWD. Still, it made sense to me. Now, with the GT-R being offered as a Nissan badged product, Nissan offering a boosted Z does not seem to mesh.

Like I said before, we get the news before anyone else.

Wonder why no other forums have mentioned this?

380 hp on a jdm production car sounds fishy... still in compliance with Kyoto Protocol?

The supra is making its way back too with 400ish HP...maybe new rules? I've also heard rumbleings of the new NSX in that HP range. Time will tell!

Im pretty sure that the gentlemans agreement between the manufacturers is no longer in effect. I believe it was the Acura TL (not sure what the JDM equivilant is?) that was marketed as 300hp that broke the agreement.

Well, it's about damn time that Nissan got back to it's factory-boosted roots. I just hope that the U.S. market doesn't get the 'el-shaft-arooni' again.

BTW, Greg, I'm loving the sig!

Yep Yep, no more 280hp limitation.

GT-R will be about 450hp, Lexus LF-A will be 500hp, et cetera.

I admit that this doesn't really make sense given that the GT-R is coming out, but I'm certainly not going to argue, sounds good to me.

Now where's Infiniti's halo vehicle? We need a V12 Q!

yeah there is no 280 hp limitation, the new G has 298 and the current Z now has 300, the new G is suspected to have 330-340

Meh, the G50 had closer to 300hp than 280 anyway...
