Pros - they used to be cheaper than the competition. Not so much now with the current model, especially with the diesel.
Cons - just about everything else. They do currently have a diesel in a "heavy half" ton truck that makes about the same power as a 12 year old Cummins that you would have found in an HD Ram. Gas engine trucks are competitive, power wise, but are already behind on amenities.
They'll depreciate faster than the rest of the competitors. The styling didn't change on the 1st gen trucks for 12 model years, and I'm sure they'll let the current model run way longer than it should as well. 1st gen models also had a woefully inadequate rear axle.
While not bad trucks, just about every competing model from Toyota and the big 3 is a better value.
